The policy for letting houses is based on choice based lettings principles. Empty properties are advertised with a closing date and applicants are invited to bid for properties. This just means you letting us know you are interested in the property. The landlord then generates a list for each property only from the people who have bid for the property. The offer is made to the person whose household best fits the property in terms of size and type, and who has the most points. If more than one applicant has the same points as another, the date they applied for housing will decide who gets the offer.
Details of properties available are on this website and links to this site are on Cloch, Oak Tree and Larkfield websites.
We would ask that you familiarise yourself with any property you bid for as bidding means you are willing to accept the property if offered. We will aim to show external and internal photographs of all properties where possible and give you as much information about the property as we can. If you are top of the list for particular property and then refuse the offer, details of this refusal will be held on your file and if you refuse another offer within 6 months then your application will be suspended from the ICHR for a period of 6 months.
There may be restrictions on who can apply for a property. Any conditions or restrictions will be clearly advertised.
